Organs are different tissues formed together.

    • pumps blood throughout body
  • blood vessels
    • distributes blood throughout body
  • lungs
    • filters air
  • windpipe
    • transports oxygen to body and carbon dioxide out

    • distributes oxygenated blood throughout body
  • mouth
    • breaks down food into manageable proportions
  • esophagus
    • sends food to stomach
  • stomach
    • has acid/enzymes to break down food even more
  • liver
    • balances nutrients and makes sure that nothing is toxic

    • breaks down sugars, fats and starches
  • small and large intestines
    • digests food
  • anus
    • excretes waste left over from food
  • bones
    • support and form of body
  • muscles
    • allows movement to happen
  • brain
    • controls everything
  • spinal cord
    • main path for communication between body and brain
  • sensory organs
    • detects changes and sends information to brain

  • leaves
    • photosynthesis for energy
  • stem (trunk)
    • support leaves and conducts water and nutrients to leaves
  • roots
    • gathers nutrients and water from ground, may also reproduce asexually
